A Japanese import that's kind of dippy but with a few delightful surprises up its sleeve.
Their advertised specialty are their cream puffs, which are always more mediocre than I remember. (Dry shell, insipid whipped filling. Yet somehow I never remember I don't like them, and so I buy one, and then bite into it and think: "Oh yeah, I forgot these suck.")
The gems here are, instead, the other baked goods. Don't let the plastic wrapping fool you -- they are all baked on the premises and taste really fresh. I love the "cheese roll" (kind of a light fluffy cheesecake)... and the fruit and red bean croissants, both of which are moist with generous fillings.
It does seem like a few things here have been lost in translation, though... from the butchered American song lyrics on the wall, to some of the odder baked goods (like a pastry filled with sweet cream cheese but topped with American cheese; I kid you not).
