About me:
When it comes to choosing a restaurant, I always want a second opinion, so Yelp used to be a perfect solution (even though I never thought I would post my own reviews). Although their ranking system seemed overly manipulated, Yelp was a convenient source for restaurant info, so I constantly referenced it. But when highly rated restaurants on the site began to fall flat, I was inclined to set the record straight. Over 50 yelp reviews later, I had had enough and decided to create The Confoodant, a place where a network of trusted food enthusiasts could grow and post their opinions.
Is it just a blog?
Confoodant.com is still in development, but the network of confoodants has already begun to grow and are invited to post their reviews on The Confoodant blog until the real website is up and running. The blog doesn't provide the features that the full site will, but just think of it as a temporary home to start sharing restaurant tips with people you trust (and who trust you).

The chicken and the short ribs were both memorable dishes. Grab a bite here before a movie at Film Forum for a perfect Sunday date.
This is one of my favorite restaurants in the city. I've had almost everything on the menu and there isn't one thing I wouldn't recommend - well actually you shouldn't get the crab sticks, I think they are distgusting. My only problem with Shorty's is that the food is so salty. Also, on the weekends (at least when it first opened) it was so crowded and the music was so loud that it was really hard to talk, and typically I don't mind loud places at all.
In addition to the short ribs and chicken recommended by a.b. I would also highly suggest the burger, the cod, the mac and cheese...
Maybe because it was a late lunch on a weekday and the chef just wanted to get out of there, but the burger I had at Shorty's was one of the worst and overpriced burgers in Manhattan.
1) The burger was cooked well, when asked for medium.
2) The bun was hard and flaky.
3) Included one sad, dry looking slice of a tomato
4) Already a $16 burger, I was charged an extra $1.50 for cheese that was burnt.
I have been here for dinner and loved everything, so maybe its just the burger. Thank god we ordered the mac n'cheese as a side, or else I would have been a really unhappy camper.
