I've been to Poke many times (old location and current location). And I'm really not loving it. Yes, it's a BYOB on the UES, which makes it unique. But the sushi just doesn't impress me. It's definitely a fun/cool spot with a nice stylish ambiance, but I think I liked it better when it was that tiny hole-in-the-wall. The tasty rolls, fresh fish, and BYOB made it feel like a hidden gem then. Now, it just seems over priced and over rated. Poke is dead to me.
I've only been to Poke once, but I agree with A.B. The sushi just isn't good. Too much rice with the rolls and the quality of fish is not up to par with other comparable sushi restaurants in the same price range. Although BYOB is a plus, they do have a corking fee (and it was pretty ridiculous, from what I remember - I think $10 for each bottle?) and they do not let you drink wine and beer at the same time, you have to choose between either one.
If you're in the UES and looking for a sushi place, I would recommend going somewhere else. I don't know where, but not Poke.
