About me:
When it comes to choosing a restaurant, I always want a second opinion, so Yelp used to be a perfect solution (even though I never thought I would post my own reviews). Although their ranking system seemed overly manipulated, Yelp was a convenient source for restaurant info, so I constantly referenced it. But when highly rated restaurants on the site began to fall flat, I was inclined to set the record straight. Over 50 yelp reviews later, I had had enough and decided to create The Confoodant, a place where a network of trusted food enthusiasts could grow and post their opinions.
Is it just a blog?
Confoodant.com is still in development, but the network of confoodants has already begun to grow and are invited to post their reviews on The Confoodant blog until the real website is up and running. The blog doesn't provide the features that the full site will, but just think of it as a temporary home to start sharing restaurant tips with people you trust (and who trust you).

They change their menu frequently, but definitely get the octopus salad and the buns if they're available. Skip the hamachi, which seems a little over stylized (but still tasty) compared to the rest of the menu.
Overall, I would go back and recommend to friends.
Ditto on the buns -- I daydream about these! Really fatty pork, slow-roasted until it becomes meltingly tender and juicy... it goes so well with the hoisin sauce, crunchy pickled cucumbers, and fluffy steamed bun. I could just eat two orders of these for dinner.
Agreed that the hamachi's not amazing... and I thought the brussels sprouts had lost their identity to over-frying and over-salting.
The crispy pig's head is great -- it's actually a patty made out of flavorful meat from the head, pan-fried until crispy on the outside... and it paired very well with the subtly sweet adzuki beans.
Ssam's a great value for the quality and creativity of the food. (You WILL wait for a table, though, unless you go really late).
An excellent restaurant. David Chang and his team create a wonderful and geniously matched palette of flavors in every dish. This is new American cuisine at its best. The fried lamb belly with olives had the perfect balance of crunch, fat and freshness from the olives. The Hamachi with Strawberries was as good as Haute Cuisine can ever be. The ban mi was good, but one should not bother with this or the pork buns here, as the same thing can be had for 1/3 to half the price at Nikkis or in Flushing.
