About me:
When it comes to choosing a restaurant, I always want a second opinion, so Yelp used to be a perfect solution (even though I never thought I would post my own reviews). Although their ranking system seemed overly manipulated, Yelp was a convenient source for restaurant info, so I constantly referenced it. But when highly rated restaurants on the site began to fall flat, I was inclined to set the record straight. Over 50 yelp reviews later, I had had enough and decided to create The Confoodant, a place where a network of trusted food enthusiasts could grow and post their opinions.
Is it just a blog?
Confoodant.com is still in development, but the network of confoodants has already begun to grow and are invited to post their reviews on The Confoodant blog until the real website is up and running. The blog doesn't provide the features that the full site will, but just think of it as a temporary home to start sharing restaurant tips with people you trust (and who trust you).

Perfect for a glass of wine and high-quality snacking. You can expect understated, reasonably priced small plates that feel special in a cheery, refined setting. Romantics take note: no mood lighting here. The counter at Gottino could be straight out of Martha Stewart's kitchen (in a good way).
The chicken liver pâté beats 'inoteca's, but still falls short of the liver mousse at Little Giant.
That said, Gottino has what I'm going to call a cod pâté that was simple, unique, and delicious.
Of the cheeses, there was a soft, strongly flavored variety that should not be missed.
The cotechino-stuffed apples were original, but not as satisfying as a dish with sausage should be.
Misses included the ricotta crustini; whipped with truffle oil for flavor, the texture was totally compromised.
And stay away from the brussel sprouts unless you really (really) like Romano cheese; for me, its sharp flavor totally overwhelmed the dish. With a menu focused on cheese, meats, and crostini, something distinctly vegetal would be a welcomed compliment.
