About me:
When it comes to choosing a restaurant, I always want a second opinion, so Yelp used to be a perfect solution (even though I never thought I would post my own reviews). Although their ranking system seemed overly manipulated, Yelp was a convenient source for restaurant info, so I constantly referenced it. But when highly rated restaurants on the site began to fall flat, I was inclined to set the record straight. Over 50 yelp reviews later, I had had enough and decided to create The Confoodant, a place where a network of trusted food enthusiasts could grow and post their opinions.
Is it just a blog?
Confoodant.com is still in development, but the network of confoodants has already begun to grow and are invited to post their reviews on The Confoodant blog until the real website is up and running. The blog doesn't provide the features that the full site will, but just think of it as a temporary home to start sharing restaurant tips with people you trust (and who trust you).

Yet another "small plates" Italian spot on the lower east side. But this one might be the best of the lot. It's a two floor set-up, and the downstairs is a cellar with a series of rustic caverns lit by candlelight.
The food is solid for the genre, but nothing outstanding or memorable. Think Inoteca, but with a better sense of style.
This is absolutely one of my favorite restaurants in the city. Not only is the food very good, but the atmosphere is perfect for both groups or dates. Also, the menu is very reasonably priced
I highly recommend making a reservation for a party of 8 - 12 where you have a small room in the back. It's a set menu for $50 per person and then it's either an open bar for $15 per person per hour or you can order drinks a la carte. Either way its a great deal for great food and you have the perfect atmosphere!
I love the ambiance here—-dimly lit and stylish, but rustic and laid back. It can feel romantic, but not in an awkward overly serious way because it's a casual place.
The food is not that great, but if you order carefully it shouldn't be a distraction. Just focus on your dinner companion(s) and you'll definitely enjoy yourself!
The stuffed artichoke is fun to share. The cheese plate is boring, but plentiful. The clams aren't bad. Everything is reasonably priced.
